Transitional Living for Women

Darlene Hoover

Graduated with an undergraduate degree in Mental Health and Human Services and a graduate degree specializing in counseling is the founder, owner, manager and resident of Hoover House LLC. Darlene does not counsel the residents, they receive counseling form outside sources however Darlene does share her experience, strength and hope with the women who live in the household. She founded Hoover House in 1998. As a Director of a drug and alcohol program she became aware that there were few places for women to go once they completed a rehabilitation recovery program. Often times returning to old people, places and things that would often lead to relapse. It was evident that AA and NA worked by addicts helping addicts. They shared their process of recovery with one another. How much more help would it be if women who sincerely wanted to live a sober clean lifestyle shared their process with one another while living together. Hoover House was one of the first female sober recovery homes in Pittsburgh PA having been established in 1998. Hoover House is a Limited Liability Company. Hoover House is recognized by the City of Pittsburgh PA as an established three quarter house. Hoover House has an occupancy permit.
